BREAKING: "No Kings" Protests Erupt Across USA Today as Trump Waives Russia Sanctions - October 17, 2026 Exclusive
*USA Political Earthquake - October 17, 2026 Exclusive Report*
Today, October 17, 2026, America is witnessing one of the biggest political days of the year. The nationwide "No Kings: Vote Early" movement has launched massive protests in all 50 states, with dozens of events reported in Florida, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and other key battleground states.
Organizers say this is not just a protest, but a direct push to get Americans to vote early before the crucial November 3rd midterm elections. Early voting begins in less than two weeks, and the timing is critical.
The movement is led by a powerful coalition of progressive and civic groups, spearheaded by Indivisible, along with 50501 Movement, Black Voters Matter, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), MoveOn, American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Voto Latino and Public Citizen.
According to the official statement: "No Kings: Vote Early is the next step of reclaiming our power after a year of mass mobilizations. Families across the country are struggling to afford groceries, gas, electric bills, and the everyday cost of getting by."
The White House responded within hours. White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis said in a statement this morning: "The fact that the 'No Kings' organizers are talking about voting in the upcoming election proves they should change their name. This November, Americans have a clear choice between President Trump and Republicans' commonsense policies or the extreme Democrats' radical socialist, open-border policies."
While protests spread, President Donald Trump made a shocking foreign policy move late Friday. He issued an executive order waiving many sanctions, restrictions and duties under the newly signed Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026.
The law, signed in mid-September, was designed to impose tariffs of up to 100% on goods from the five largest importers of Russian crude oil and gas, and 500% duties on Russian goods. But Trump waived them just days before they were to take effect, at a time when he has been publicly warming toward Russia and criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, even suggesting Ukraine needs a new leader.
The decision triggered backlash. US Rep. Gregory Meeks introduced the bipartisan Prohibit Corrupt Russia Oil Deals Act to block Russian diesel imports, while EU leaders expressed regret and announced new sanctions on 1,569 Russian individuals and companies, reaffirming support for Ukraine.
This all comes just 17 days before midterms. At a rally in Dalton, Georgia on October 16, Trump told supporters this is "the most important midterm election" ever and said turnout is 49% higher when he is on the ballot.
America is divided, energized, and ready to vote. This story is developing.
